Instructional Designer (Pune, MH, IN)


Job Description

The Instructional Designer will be a member of the Learning Lifecycle Management (LLM) team. As an Instructional Designer, his/her core role will encompass the following key tasks:

  • Understand client requirements and propose learning solutions to meet the requirements
  • Create course outlines and design documents based on client requirements
  • Analyze current state environment, including analysis of performance gaps and job/task/needs analysis.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshop and conduct interviews to confirm performance needs and translate those needs into concrete options for learning interventions.
  • Facilitate design session with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, graphic designers, and media programmers
  • Create project documentation including design templates, standards, style guides, technical specifications, straw models, train-the-trainer, pilot materials, and working prototypes.
  • Demonstrate expertise in developing a range of instructional materials including classroom-based training, e-learning, job aids, references guides, scenario case studies, on-the-job training, train-the-trainer course material, assessments, and evaluations.
  • Demonstrate effective course development and evaluation skills. Should be able to independently develop entry and advanced level technical and non-technical courses for both internal and external clients.
  • Review deliverables developed by team members.
  • Be responsible for project deliverables.
  • Develop, mentor, and coach junior instructional designers.
  • Evaluate sales opportunities and create proposals detailing effort and cost estimates.
  • Create and manage project plans
  • Manage projects from end to end and coordinate with stakeholders, SMEs, and internal team
  • Demonstrate expertise in leading and managing both internal and external clients.
  • Handle client communication and reporting.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving and business acumen skills
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication skills
  • Contribute to team “Business As Usual” activities such as hiring, process improvement, service standardization, etc.

  • Excellent command over English language (written as well as spoken)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle client communication and manage projects independently
  • Excellent time management and self-management skills

Secondary Skills (Nice to have)

  • Degree/certification in Instructional Designing
  • Experience working on an LCMS (such as Xyleme, SkillSoft, NETg, etc.)
  • Experience working on software simulation applications such as UPK, uPerform, Captivate, and Camtasia
  • Experience using technology-based authoring tools such as Articulate, Presenter, and Lectora
